Intentional Gift Ideas

Some people seem to always know what to give others when holidays and special occasions come around, while others find stress when we try to give the perfect gift to our loved ones. We at Stand Unshaken know how difficult it can be when you want to gift something that’s intentional, useful and thoughtful. That’s why we’re rounding up 10 gift ideas for you this holiday season!

1. Annual membership to the Stand Unshaken Collective!

Health is about feeling your best every day, so you have the energy to do what you love with the people you love! It’s about going through life with a spirit that finds rest in the Lord, and a body that’s full of energy and life. That’s exactly what we seek to do through the SU Collective membership! You can sign up for a free, 7-day trial here. Plus, be on the lookout in the coming weeks for special, end-of-year deals. ;)

2. Stand Unshaken sweatshirt

So many of you have been asking for SU merchandise, and it’s finally here! This limited run sweatshirt is comfy, soft and the perfect way to spread a message we love here at SU - that in everything we do we would be led by love - love for the Lord and love for others! You can order it here, but don’t wait! It’s only available for purchase through December 7.

3. Books

I know this is a rather broad suggestion, but let’s break it down! If you’re unsure what books your loved one might be interested in, you can always give them a book subscription (like Book of the Month) or a gift card to their favorite book store. Another fun idea would be to offer to take them to a book shop or thrift store where you can peruse the bookshelves together for a book or two.

4. Coffee or tea subscription

There’s a good chance you know someone who loves coffee and/or tea, and a subscription for either of those can be a great gift! I had a friend give her husband an annual subscription where each month he received a bag of coffee beans from a different country with an information card about those beans. My husband and I actually gifted ourselves a monthly subscription from a coffee shop in our state. It’s one of my favorite coffee shops, and I feel great about supporting a local business!

5. Embroidery kit

You can find these at your local craft store or online. Crafty things, like an embroidery kit, can make lovely gifts for anyone, especially those who want a new hobby that also gives their brain a rest.

6. Foam roller

With long hours spent at a desk , a foam rolling session at the end of the workday, after a workout or on a rest day is amazing! Where have foam rollers been all my life? It truly makes you feel better physically and mentally (so relaxing and calming!), and having ours in our living room makes it easier to use. My husband and I keep a yoga mat rolled out at all times and our foam roller nearby, and this helps us regularly roll out our bodies a few times a week

7. Gratitude journal

My sister gifted me one for my birthday last year, and I loved having a pretty book to help remind me to reflect back on the day and what was joyful about it. Even on the hardest days, there were always a few things to be grateful for! Having a journal with spots to list three things a day was so helpful, and I kept it by our couch so I'd see it often.

8. Half Baked Harvest Every Day cookbook

Whether for a friend who loves to cook or the one who never knows what to cook, a cookbook is a wonderful gift idea! This particular cookbook has been one of my favorites recently, and it’s a #1 bestseller.

9. Slippers

Can you really go wrong with a pair of slippers? I don’t think so! These smiley face ones are especially cute.

10. Thrifted items (think records, books & more!)

I gifted a favorite book from a secondhand book store to my friend for Christmas this year, as it holds great significance to me and to the person who owned it before I gifted it to my friend. A few friends have record players, so I am always checking out vinyl stores or Goodwill bins for some “oldies but goodies.” Worn but beautiful picture frames have held some of my most precious memories over the years, as I fill them with pictures of my friends and me. There’s a beauty in valuing what we already have enough to gift it to someone we love. So, I leave you with the question: what can you buy secondhand this Christmas?

There are so many options for gifts out there, but we hope we helped narrow down some of the options for you. If you have more intentional gift ideas, leave them in the comments! The more, the merrier!

We also really want to know… what’s one of your favorite gifts you’ve ever received or given? Let us know in the comments below. Merry Christmas, friend!
